Massive floods hit California, 1,000s flee [VIDEO]

Nearly 50,000 people have been asked to evacuate San Jose, California due to record flooding. Hundreds of others have been rescued by boat as floods swallow entire neighborhoods. RT America correspondent Brigida Santos joins RT America’s Anya Parampil from Los Angeles to bring us the details of the disaster and to update us on the continuing Oroville Dam crisis.

Some San Jose residents complained that the first they knew of the danger was on Wednesday when they saw neighbors being rescued from their homes in boats. Above, one home and surrounding cars is submerged in flood water


Cars abandoned in the street began to sink in the water as trees and street lights remained the few structures towering over the water 


On Nordale Avenue, cars and RVs floated in the street after waters poured through the streets overnight
