SHOP-POCALYPSE Amazon planning to open robotic supermarket staffed by just THREE humans

That’s what Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos appears to be thinking, as his Seattle-based web giant has contemplated a two-story, automated grocery store in which a staff of robots on the floor upstairs grabs and bags items for shoppers below.

The ground level of the futuristic prototype — a supermarket-sized version of its recently unveiled “Amazon Go” convenience store, with a bigger layout that could span anywhere between 10,000 and 40,000 square feet — would be devoted to goods that shoppers typically like to touch, sources briefed on the plans told The New Post.

Those could include as many as 4,000 items, spanning fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, meats and cheeses, and grab-it-and-go stuff like beer and wine, the sources said. Pharmacies might also might spring up at some of the high-tech locations, as Amazon looks to break into the lucrative sector, insiders said.

But for many, the most striking feature of the bigger stores is that they could operate with as few as three employees at a time. Sources said the plans call for staff to max out at 10 workers per location during any given shift.

“Amazon will utilise technology to minimise labor,” a source close to the situation told The Post.

Job-cutting technology isn’t new for Amazon, which has increasingly used robots to automate its distribution warehouses.

More recently, it has been pioneering the use of drones to deliver packages instead of humans, and even filing patents for unmanned blimps that would serve as flying warehouses.

In the case of Amazon’s automated retail prototype, a half-dozen workers could staff an average location. A manager’s duties would include signing up customers for the “Amazon Fresh” grocery service. Another worker would restock shelves, and still another two would be stationed at “drive-thru” windows for customers picking up their groceries, fast-food style.

The last pair would work upstairs, helping the robots bag groceries to be sent down to customers on “dumbwaiter”-like conveyors, a source said.

With the bare-bones payroll, the boost to profits could be huge. Indeed, the prototype being discussed calls for operating profit margins north of 20 percent. That compares with an industry average of just 1.7 percent, according to the Food Marketing Institute.

Labour accounts for the lion’s share of a supermarket’s operating costs. In 2015, the industry employed 3.4 million workers nationwide, with an average grocery store employing 89 workers to generate annual sales of $2 million, according to the trade group.
Amazon’s prototype, meanwhile, doesn’t call for any cashiers. It might, however, employ “greeters” that could serve as curbs against shoplifting — a key hazard for thinly staffed stores — in addition to using high-tech motion sensors to track wayward goods.

“Shoplifting is a touchy subject for Amazon,” the source said, noting that Amazon may decide to bar its stores from shoppers who aren’t members of its “Prime” and “Prime Fresh” services, which carry annual fees.

“In the view of Amazon, people who can afford Prime memberships aren’t likely to shoplift,” the source said. “If someone walks in off the street, they’ll be able to access the stores, but they’ll have to sign up for a membership which means showing an ID.”

Elsewhere, the two-story design could boost earnings by slashing real-estate costs. The setup could eliminate at least half the aisles that account for a supermarket’s sprawl, with robots upstairs picking through between 15,000 and 20,000 staple items like breakfast cereal, spaghetti sauce, paper towels and soda.

Sources cautioned that the prototype is still in the early stages, and that it hasn’t received a final nod. Reached Sunday, Amazon officials denied the company was planning a robot-driven supermarket chain.

“As we’ve said previously, it’s not correct,” an Amazon spokesman told The Post. “We have no plans to build such a store.”

In December, the Wall Street Journal reported that Amazon envisions opening as many as 2,000 brick-and-mortar grocery stores across various formats — a number the company disputed.

Nevertheless, a source said the 2,000-store, nationwide goal has been a real one inside the company, with execs eyeing a gradual rollout to gauge demand for the new concepts. A larger-prototype store could open as soon as late 2017, according to the source.

Hillary Clinton who said it would be the end of the world if she lost is writing a memoir for BIG cash, skipping Women’s March [VIDEO]

Published on Feb 6, 2017

Hillary Clinton told the country it would be the end of the world if she lost the election. But is she heading up all the marches and protests and standing with her supporters? Nope. Turns out, she’s writing a memoir and returning to the speaking circuit to cash in on the election instead.

FAIL: CREDIT CARD ID THEFT RISES SINCE SECURITY CHIPS

chips-2222222222222

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – It’s a tiny chip that elicits big opinions.

Meant to protect customers from credit card fraud, most cards now have security chips, and many businesses bought the chip readers to go with it. But more than a year after they became common place, research shows that identity theft is actually up.

“With all the credit card hacking and privacy invasion, I think it’s a fantastic idea,” said one consumer.

Not so, said another. “It holds you up. It’s annoying.”

Consumers and businesses switched to the chip-based cards and readers 16 months ago to deter theft. But a study released this week from Javelin Strategy and Research found that identity fraud cases rose 16 percent in 2016, which equates to 15.4 million new victims – a record high. Lane Conner, founder and CEO of credit card processor Fuze said the chip rollout was bungled from the start, in part because it was supposed to require a pin – not just a signature.

“The real security was supposed to be the pin and actually putting your pin in when you actually dip the card,” he said. “A bad guy could just as easily steal your wallet, go and dip a credit card into a machine and sign for it like they’re you as you could swiping a card.

He also said the increase in e-commerce is to blame, since online shopping offers virtually no credit card protection. For business ownerkory helfman of ken’s man’s shop, the spike in fraud cases is concerning.

“It scares me as a business owner, not only for our store but also for our clientele. No one wants to come under any kind of fraud,” he said.

But overall Conner is comfortable with the protection the chip readers gives. And that’s a good thing given the chip is here to stay.

“As badly as it was done, the ship has sailed on ever going back to swiping cards,” said Conner.

Japan Declares Crisis As Fukushima Reactor Begins Falling Into Ocean And Radiation Levels Soar [VIDEO]

Published on Feb 5, 2017

Unimaginable Disaster: Japan Declares Crisis As Fukushima Reactor Begins Falling Into The Pacific Ocean And Radiation Soars To The Highest Levels Ever Seen.

The latest developments at Japan’s Fukushima reactor have been described as “unimaginable”and “unprecedented”. Officials state that damages at the reactor are “far worse than previously
thought”. Melted fuel has come in contact with underground water and the melted core appears spread over an “extensive area”.

Radiation levels at the Fukushima reactor have also soared to their highest levels since the 2011 disaster. The radiation levels inside the containment vessel of the number 2 reactor at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear complex stood at 530 sieverts per hour, the highest since the 2011 disaster, the plant operator said on Thursday. Previously the highest radiation level monitored in the interior of the reactor had been 73 sieverts per hour.

The new radiation level, has been described by some experts as “unimaginable,”. These are record high fatal radiation levels, according to the institute.

Another truly unsettling revelation about the Fukushima problem came as a boss revealed 600 tons of fuel melted, and they can’t find it.

“Uncontrollable fission” is continuing under the site.

Radiation at Fukushima at highest level since meltdown

Radiation levels at one of Fukushima’s power stations is at its highest level since the tsunami-triggered meltdown almost six years ago, TEPCO reports. Safely dismantling the plant will prove an enormous challenge and is made even more difficult by this discovery. Radioactive waste monitor Kevin Kamps, of Beyond Nuclear, joins RT America’s Simone Del Rosario to explain the details of this ongoing catastrophe.

Over 30,000 scientists say ‘Catastrophic Man-Made Global Warming’ is a complete hoax and science lie

warming-is-a-lie

(NaturalNews) The highly-politicized climate change debate rages on as we approach the crucial 2016 U.S. presidential election, despite an ever-growing body of evidence revealing the fact that “catastrophic man-made global warming” is nothing more than an elaborate hoax.

And the November election may prove to be a victory for the hoaxers, according to experts who happen to be among those who dare to challenge the spurious climate change narrative.

One of these experts is Weather Channel founder John Coleman, who is now warning that the election could prove to be a “tipping point” in favor of people like Al Gore, who continue to amass vast fortunes based on the global warming scam.

In a recent interview with Climate Depot, Coleman said:

“Al Gore may emerge from the shadows to declare victory in the ‘global warming’ debate if Hillary Clinton moves into the White House. Yes, if that happens and the new climate regulations become the law of the land, they will be next to impossible to overturn for four to eight years.”

Climate change proponents remain undeterred in their mission, ignoring numerous recent scientific findings indicating that there has been no warming trend at all for nearly two decades.

Al Gore’s dire predictions of the melting of polar ice on a massive scale have proved to be completely false. In fact, in 2014 – a year that was touted as being “the hottest ever” in the Earth’s history – there were record amounts of ice reported in Antarctica, an increase in Arctic ice, and record snowfalls across the globe.

Debunking the “97 percent” lie

On top of those “inconvenient truths,” the White House’s assertion that 97 percent of scientists agree that global warming is real has been completely debunked. Several independently-researched examinations of the literature used to support the “97 percent” statement found that the conclusions were cherry-picked and misleading.

More objective surveys have revealed that there is a far greater diversity of opinion among scientists than the global warming crowd would like for you to believe.

From the National Review:

“A 2008 survey by two German scientists, Dennis Bray and Hans von Storch, found that a significant number of scientists were skeptical of the ability of existing global climate models to accurately predict global temperatures, precipitation, sea-level changes, or extreme weather events even over a decade; they were far more skeptical as the time horizon increased.”

Other mainstream news sources besides the National Review have also been courageous enough to speak out against the global warming propaganda – even the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed piece in 2015 challenging the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) pseudoscience being promulgated by global warming proponents.

And, of course, there are the more than 31,000 American scientists (to date) who have signed a petition challenging the climate change narrative and 9,029 of them hold PhDs in their respective fields. But hey, Al Gore and his cronies have also ignored that inconvenient truth, as well.

Many of those scientists who signed the petition were likely encouraged to speak out in favor of the truth after retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist John L. Casey revealed that solar cycles are largely responsible for warming periods on Earth – not human activity.

Al Gore and cronies continue getting richer from the global warming hoax

But the global warming crowd continues to push their agenda on the public while lining their pockets in the process. If you’re still inclined to believe what Al Gore has to say about global warming, please consider the fact that since he embarked on his crusade, his wealth has grown from $2 million in 2001 to $100 million in 2016 – largely due to investments in fake “green tech” companies and the effective embezzlement of numerous grants and loans.

You might want to take all of this information into serious consideration before casting your vote in the November election.

Global warming world map based largely on “fake science” … NOAA caught in blatant temperature data fraud

Image: Global warming world map based largely on “fake science” … NOAA caught in blatant temperature data fraud

(Natural News) A new look at world temperature data claimed by the NOAA — the chief proponent of “climate change” theory — discovers that global warming temperature data points are fabricated for large regions across the globe.

The NOAA simply fabricates temperature data wherever it wants, creating the false impression that global warming is backed by “credible science.” In reality, climate change is the greatest scientific fraud ever committed in human history. But because it’s a religion in the mind of climate change cultists, they don’t feel they need real data! Since they already “know” climate change is real, they simply make up whatever data they need to fulfill their apocalyptic climate doomsday beliefs driven by quack science.

However, when Gavin is confronted about his obviously bogus temperature graphs, he defends by saying “it is not my data, I get it from NOAA.” In fact, all of the supposedly independent agencies get the lion’s share of their data from NOAA.

NASA and NOAA are engaged in the biggest fraud in science history, and this needs to end now that criminals are no longer in control of our government. Under the Trump administration, government employees stand to make huge amounts of money by whistleblowing fraud. Contact Kent Clizbe for details.

US Massive student loan fraud scam: 99.8% of repayment data fraudulently altered by schools

Image: Massive student loan fraud scam: 99.8% of repayment data fraudulently altered by schools

US StudentLoan crisis is a bigger disaster than previously believed

(Natural News) America’s student loan crisis has grown far worse than anyone has been willing to admit – at least until now.

On January 13, the U.S. Department of Education released a memo stating that the agency’s previously published statistics regarding student loans were inaccurate and that repayment rates had been exaggerated for 99.8 percent of the colleges and trade schools listed.

The most recent calculations reveal that more than 50 percent of loan recipients from 1,000 different lending institutions have either defaulted or not made any of their payments over the last seven years. (RELATED: Read Collapse.news for coverage of the coming economic collapse.)

More than 44 million Americans have student loan debt and the total in outstanding loans has now reached $1.3 trillion.

The new figures completely contradict those provided only recently by the Department of Education, proving that the government cannot be trusted to tell the truth regarding the extent of the student loan fiasco – a crisis that places a serious burden on a large segment of the U.S. economy.

From CBN News:

“Large-scale non-payment of student loans has broader economic implications. Defaults can have long-lasting ramifications, as student loan debt generally cannot be discharged through bankruptcy. Without massive forgiveness programs or some other means of useful debt relief, a significant segment of an entire generation may be pushed to the economic sidelines — unable to afford a home and provide a market for starter homes, unwilling to start families under such an economic burden, and incapable of saving enough for their retirement.”

Some experts are comparing the potential economic effects of the student loan crisis to those of the foreclosure crisis of 2008 and 2009. During that period, roughly one in ten homeowners were 90 days delinquent on their mortgage payments. Today, the overall delinquency rate for student loans is more than 11 percent and has been that way for more than four years.

From ValueWalk:

“Imagine if we were told that, year after year, more than one in ten homeowners simply weren’t making payments in the midst of an economic expansion. It would be deemed an unsustainable disaster. And yet, that’s what we’re seeing with student loans right now.”

What many people do not recognize is the fact that student loans are a major contributing factor to spiraling tuition costs. Over the past two decades, the average cost for four years tuition at a public college jumped more than 200 percent. Colleges are able to continue hiking tuition costs because they know the government will continue to make loans easily available. (RELATED: Find more news about the rigged system at RIGGED.news.)

Under Donald Trump, no one is expecting sweeping changes to the system, but he has promised an end to the “student loans scam” that he blames squarely on the federal government. His stance on student loan payments and forgiveness programs seems to be more liberal than many of his Republican colleagues, but his specific plans for dealing with the issue are not yet clear.

Many observers, including President Trump himself, believe that the most effective solution is the creation of more U.S. jobs, as there is certainly no easy, quick-fix for the crisis as it stands.

As long as a college education costs more than what a student can pay for working a part-time job – something that was once possible until “huge sums of money were handed out to anyone with a pulse” (as Shaun Bradley of Anti-Media put it),  subsequently driving up the price of tuition – there will continue to be an issue with student loan debt in America.

Perhaps the concept of a taxpayer-funded free college education isn’t such a bad idea after all, compared to what we have now. At least it would theoretically cut out all the loan sharks in the middle.
