The Philippines’ hardline stance on drugs has left 1,900 people dead in the last seven weeks, thanks to a recent police crackdown. Some groups claim the country’s position on drugs, including encouraging citizens to shoot and kill suspected dealers, may violate human rights. Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte recently made comments threatening to pull his country out of the United Nations. Secretary of Foreign Affairs Perfecto Yasay later clarified that Duterte’s comments were made out of “frustration.” RT America’s Trinity Chavez reports from the UN.
