Protests continued in Ferguson on Tuesday night and through into Wednesday morning. The atmosphere was tense and a number of arrests were made, including one photographer. Legal observers are operating in the town amid accusations of police brutality and heavy-handedness.

At least 78 people were arrested on Monday and early on Tuesday, with the number expected to rise after the latest round of protests. With another black male killed in Ferguson on Tuesday afternoon, officials have demanded “reconciliation” and calm.

USA: Ferguson legal observer arrested, protesters manhandled [VIDEO]

A legal observer from the National Lawyers’ Guild was detained by security forces during a protest in Ferguson early on Wednesday morning. The observer was seen lying face-down on the ground as security forces bound his hands behind his back with cable ties.

Around six other arrests were made, including one photographer. Security forces reportedly used pepper spray on some protesters at close range and fired tear gas at the crowd.
