A wave of violence swiped across the region of Great Noida Saturday evening following the assassination Vijay Pandit, a head of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
After news of Vijay Pandit’s death spread, hundreds of BJP supporters took to the streets of Dadri and ransacked the area, torching several vehicles and buildings whilst clashing against the police, who resorted to cane charge and fire blanks against the protesters.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Pandit was gunned down by two men on a motorcycle. There was no official police statement on details about the murder.
