Japan: Typhoon Neoguri strikes Kyushu, civilians on high-alert [VIDEO]

Heavy winds and rain battered the streets of Kagoshima Prefecture, on the southwestern tip of the of Kyushu as Typhoon Neoguri hit southern Japan, Thursday.

Around 90,000 people had been evacuated from Kyushu in anticipation of the storm, fearing the potential of landslides and flooding.

On the first day of the storm, around 20 people were injured in Okinawa.
